Located in the Western suburb of Tottenham in Melbourne, the Australia Light Foundation serves a number of neighbourhood and cultural groups. The largest concentrations of the facility users are currently located in the suburbs of Footscray, Maidstone, Braybrook, Sunshine, St Albans, Deer Park, Broadmeadows, Glenroy, Dallas and Meadow Heights. They are a network of cultural, social, educational, sporting, and religious organisations with a common affiliation with  the Islamic community predominately from the North and West of Melbourne.

The existing centre has developed a strong reputation for providing a range of culturally sensitive services and programs that attract a broad range of culturally and linguistically diverse participants.  It is unique in providing a place for worship, social activities, education programs, and welfare and employment information and support programs in a single venue.

The Australia Light Foundation significantly contributes to the promotion of the vibrant multicultural and  positive image of Muslim culture to the wider community promoting greater harmony.
